Staff Writers
Glimpse from the Globe’s Senior and Junior Correspondents produce regional and issue-based analysis relevant to ongoing events throughout the world. Correspondents also produce a number of feature pieces, including editorials, policy papers, face-off debates and multimedia works. Each staff writer focuses on a unique region of the world.
Lujain Marafie (she/her) is a junior studying Linguistics and minoring in Political Science and Musical Studies. She is interested in state development and Middle Eastern regional affairs. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing the piano, and going on walks.
Mark Zilberman is a junior majoring in International Relations with an anticipated minor in Law and Public Policy. His interests center on international security, especially concerning nuclear proliferation and its implications for global stability. He is particularly interested in Iran, the wider Middle East, and the nuclear programs of Iran and North Korea. In his free time, Mark enjoys playing guitar, skiing, and spending time with his friends.
Orion Dennin (he/him) is a Senior from Delmar, New York majoring in Public Policy with a concentration in Data Analytics. His interests primarily focus on global decent work assurance, particularly concerning the refugee labor economies in Turkey, Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America. Orion has previously worked for the International Rescue Committee and in the foreign affairs department of Ralph Lauren, and is also involved on campus in Impact Investing Group, Liberty in North Korea, and Delta Phi Epsilon. In his free time, he enjoys learning languages, hiking, crosswords, and cooking.
Ray Zhang (he/him) is a sophomore from Vancouver, Canada studying International Relations and Global Business. His interests within Glimpse include business law, global finance, and
development and recently interned with the Government of Canada. Outside of glimpse Ray is involved with Greek life and USC Surf Club and has a passion for the outdoors, piano, and going snowboarding with his friends.
Rohan Kancherla is a sophomore from Palo Alto, California, studying Economics and International Relations. He is especially interested in the global economy and hopes to work in diplomacy one day. Aside from Glimpse, Rohan is involved in USC’s Swim Club and Mustard Seed Project. Outside of school, he loves traveling, trying new restaurants, and watching movies.
